In August 2024, Kings Beads proudly participated in the Procemin-Geomet 2024 Conference held in Santiago, Chile. As a key sponsor of the event, Kings Beads co-authored and presented a groundbreaking research paper in collaboration with a prominent South American copper mine and Swiss Tower Minerals AG (STM).
The research highlighted the significant benefits of Kings TA-380 ceramic media in reducing the HIGmill operational expenses (OPEX) of the mine’s ultra-fine grinding (UFG) mill. By comparing the performance of Kings TA-380 media with that of other suppliers' media, the study demonstrated that Kings' media not only enhanced grinding efficiency but also notably decreased the wear on both the ceramic media and mill spare parts.
The study involved running the UFG mill for 2400 hours with ceramic media from various suppliers, each with similar initial media size and density. The resulting data showed that lower-quality media tended to lose sphericity more rapidly, developing edges and corners that accelerated wear on mill components and increased HIGmill OPEX. In contrast, Kings TA-380 media maintained superior sphericity, contributing to lower wear rates and improved operational cost-effectiveness.
The presentation of these findings sparked significant interest from industry experts and professionals at the conference, underscoring the critical role of high-quality ceramic media in optimizing milling performance.
Kings Beads remains committed to delivering exceptional ceramic media and providing value-added technical services to our clients. Our ongoing dedication to innovation and industry advancements continues to drive our efforts to support the mining industry.
